Overview

TallyIRA (Tally Intelligent Report Assistant) is the native AI-powered conversational analytics engine built directly into TallyPrime starting from Release 7.0 and enhanced significantly in version 7.1. Instead of forcing business owners and accountants to navigate through multiple layers of Gateway of Tally menus, open individual reports, apply date filters manually, configure column selections and set up ageing brackets to answer a simple business question, TallyIRA lets you simply type or speak your question in natural English, Hindi, or any of the 11 supported Indian regional languages, and within seconds presents you with a beautifully formatted, interactive report containing exactly the numbers and insights you asked for — along with chart visualizations, trend lines, variance analysis, and sometimes even proactive recommendations you did not explicitly ask for. Powered by Tally's own proprietary LLM trained on millions of anonymised Indian business accounting datasets and running entirely over secured TSS cloud channels with full data privacy compliance, TallyIRA can answer complex queries spanning sales, purchases, inventory, receivables, payables, GST, profitability, cash flow and payroll. For SMEs in Hisar, Haryana who have neither the budget for a full-time business analyst nor the time to wait for monthly MIS reports from their CA, TallyIRA puts CFO-level intelligence literally at the fingertips of the business owner — answering ad-hoc questions like "show top 10 customers in June by sales value" or "which suppliers have I not paid since 90 days" in under 5 seconds, without any training, report customization or Excel exporting.

Key Benefits

Natural Language Queries

Ask any business question in plain English, Hindi or regional language. No need to remember report names, menu paths, keyboard shortcuts or TDL code.

Instant Reports & Charts

Answers include tabular reports with auto-sorting, plus bar/pie/line charts and trend visualizations. Spot patterns visually without dumping data to Excel.

Receivable Predictions

Predict which customers are likely to delay payments beyond due date using historical behavioural patterns. Proactively call them before cash gets stuck.

Stock-Out Alerts

Analyse historical consumption trends and lead times to flag inventory items that are likely to run out in next 7/15/30 days. Never miss a sale due to stockout.

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Ensure Valid TSS Subscription & Login

TallyIRA runs on Tally's cloud AI engine and requires an active Tally Software Services (TSS) subscription for your company serial number. Open TallyPrime, press Ctrl+K (Login), and sign in using the Tally Solutions account credentials (mobile/email) linked to your licensed TallyPrime copy. Once logged in, you should see your TSS expiry date in green under the User Profile icon.

2

Open TallyIRA Chat Panel

From anywhere inside TallyPrime (Gateway, Voucher, or Report view), click the sparkling TallyIRA AI icon on the right-hand vertical toolbar (topmost icon) or press the dedicated keyboard shortcut Alt+Q. A slide-in chat panel opens on the right half of the screen with a text input field labelled "Ask anything about your business…".

3

Ask Your First Question in Natural English

Try the query: "show top 10 customers in June". Type it into the input box and press Enter or click the Send button. Within 2 to 5 seconds, TallyIRA will respond with a formatted table of your top 10 customers for the month of June, sorted by net sales amount descending, with columns for Invoice Count, Taxable Value, GST Amount, and Total Amount — plus a horizontal bar chart visualizing the relative contribution of each customer.

4

Try Overdue Receivables Query

Now try asking: "who hasn't paid in 60 days" or alternatively "show all debtors more than 60 days overdue". TallyIRA automatically opens the Bills Receivable report with a pre-applied ageing filter of >60 days past due date, showing you party name, invoice number, due date, overdue days, pending amount, and contact details so you can immediately start calling for collections.

5

Discover Slow-Moving Inventory Items

Type the question: "slow-moving items in last 3 months". TallyIRA runs an inventory velocity analysis across all your stock items, comparing last quarter's consumption against average stock on hand, and presents a list of items with inventory turnover ratio below your company's industry threshold — flagging exactly which SKUs are tying up working capital and should be discounted or discontinued.

6

Drill-Down into Answers

Click any row number on a TallyIRA result table and TallyPrime will automatically drill down into the underlying Tally report (ledger, voucher register, stock summary) with all applicable filters already applied — allowing you to validate source data, open individual voucher entries, or further customize the report beyond what TallyIRA initially returned.

7

Export Answers to Excel / PDF

Once you are satisfied with an AI-generated report, click the Export button in the top-right of the TallyIRA response card and choose either Excel (XLSX), PDF, or CSV format. The export preserves both the data table and the chart visualizations. Email the exported file directly to your CA, banker, or business partner from the same screen.

Pro Tips & Best Practices

TallyIRA Productivity Tips

  • Be specific with dates & filters: Instead of "sales report", ask "month-wise sales comparison FY 25-26 vs FY 24-25 for Hisar branch" — the more context you provide the smarter the answer.
  • Use follow-up questions: TallyIRA remembers context. After "top 10 customers in June", simply type "show same for July" and it will re-run the same query for new period automatically without retyping everything.
  • Try Hindi or regional languages: Type queries in Hindi using English letters like "June ke top 10 customer dikhao" or pure Devanagari script. TallyIRA supports 11 Indian languages including Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali and Tamil.
  • Validate against source reports: For critical decisions (bank loan submission, tax planning), always cross-check TallyIRA numbers by drilling down to the underlying Tally report — AI is excellent for ad-hoc discovery but final audited numbers should come from standard reports.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, absolutely not. TallyIRA runs exclusively on Tally Solutions' own proprietary AI infrastructure hosted within India in compliant AWS ap-south-1 data centres. Your voucher-level financial data never leaves the Tally ecosystem and is never shared with external LLM providers like OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude. Tally has confirmed GDPR and Indian DPDP compliance. During query processing, only the minimal contextual data required to answer a specific question is sent over an encrypted TLS 1.3 channel, processed in-memory for the response, and immediately discarded after the response is sent — nothing is stored on Tally cloud for training or analytics purposes without your explicit opt-in.

No. TallyIRA requires two non-negotiable prerequisites: an active internet connection on the TallyPrime workstation (since the AI model inference runs on Tally cloud servers, not on your local PC), and a valid, non-expired TSS (Tally Software Services) subscription linked to your TallyPrime serial number. Perpetual license users without TSS renewal will not see the TallyIRA icon in the toolbar. If your TSS has lapsed, contact Sanyam Consultants Hisar for instant TSS renewal at best prices. Currently there is no on-premises or offline version of TallyIRA available because running large language models locally would require significant GPU hardware that is not practical for typical SME desktops.

TallyIRA excels at questions based on historical data already present inside your Tally company: sales/purchase analysis, receivable/payable ageing, inventory velocity, GST liability computation, profitability by product/customer/branch, cash flow trends, variance comparisons, and predictions based on historical patterns (payment delays, stockouts, demand forecasting). It cannot answer questions that require external market data, subjective opinion, or data not present in Tally — for example "should I buy Tally Gold or Silver?", "what is the current GST rate on cement?", "how much dividend should I declare?". For those, it will politely redirect you to the appropriate statutory report or help documentation rather than giving a wrong or hallucinated answer.
